The Musée de Borda, a designated Musée de France, is one of the oldest cultural institutions in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Its two sites welcome you in the heart of Dax. The Musée de Borda, a designated Musée de France, is one of the oldest cultural institutions in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Its two sites welcome you in the heart of Dax. Explore the remains of a Gallo-Roman basilica, a listed historical monument, beneath the modern city, and discover the permanent exhibition dedicated to everyday objects, religion, trade, and the political organization of the inhabitants of the Landes and Pyrenees regions 2,000 years ago. Tactile and children's trails are also available. The temporary exhibition, "Collections since 1807," presents the history of the museum and its collections through a rich chronological and thematic journey: science, ethnology, art, archaeology… more than 400 objects to discover. 24 rue Cazade and 11 bis rue des Carmes. Guided tours (of the ancient site and the exhibition - duration 1 hour 15 minutes), workshops for young audiences, art workshops, activities... Program available at museedeborda.fr. Guided tour at 3 pm on Tuesdays and Saturdays (temporary exhibition) as well as Thursdays and Sundays (ancient site); every day the museum is open during school holidays for Zone A (temporary exhibition at 3 pm and ancient site at 4 pm). Duration of each tour: 1 hour.
