Avant-premières d’April en France

Following the success of the first two screenings at the Grand Club cinema in Mont-de-Marsan, where almost 500 spectators attended, April in France will have two new previews at the Grand Club cinema in the presence of its director on Saturday, June 14 at 3:00 p.m. and Thursday, June 19 at 7:00 p.m. The film was shot in the Landes, Gers and Pyrenees regions and shows a 5-year-old girl who discovers Gascony, its inhabitants and its values for the first time. The film is full of tenderness, optimism and poetry. It highlights the importance of intergenerational transmission, the impact that culture has on children (notably the discovery of photography, music and literature), the preservation and regeneration of nature, empathy and openness to others. Everything that happens on screen actually happened, and although it was made on a shoestring budget, the film found itself competing across the world with films that were screened at the Cannes, Venice, and Berlin Film Festivals. It also had its premiere in China last December. After the screening, the director will interact with the audience, answer questions, and discuss, among other things, the film's strong connection to the ideas and work of his great-grandfather, the poet Paul Eluard.
