Following on from Phèdre! (hosted in April 2025), which made such an impression, the temptation to offer a second part of the triptych - dedicated to three great tragic female figures of the performing arts - was too great! This time, carried by Rosemary Standley and five high-flying musicians, this version encourages laughter and questioning, and as such becomes essential. The singer happily embodies the one who provokes chaos and engenders action: freedom. She is the orator who, carried away by passion, speaks to the point of singing and taking on several roles to bring to life the full tragedy of this comic opera. If today, Carmen is a work that still provokes and in a different way, Carmen. encourages this vital force that is joy.
