What if love were played out in a breath, a heartbeat, a suspended moment? Tiago Rodrigues returns to his very first play. Written and premiered in Lisbon in 2007, Chorus of Lovers is a lyrical and polyphonic narrative in which two actors unfold, almost in unison, the story of a couple with virtuoso tenderness. By juxtaposing slightly different versions of the same events, the play allows us to explore a moment of crisis, akin to a race against time, in which everything is threatened and where the vital force of love is rediscovered. In a minimalist staging, with powerful and poetic language, Rodrigues discreetly explores the fragile beauty of love, of time passing, and of what remains when it may already be too late. A theater of intimacy, vibrant with emotion, that celebrates humanity in its most vulnerable state.
