The brass ensemble invites Amélie Caron, principal trombone of the Paris Brassband. Brass Landes was created, as part of the Conservatoire des Landes, in 2005. Brass bands, groups which bring together instruments from the brass family and percussion, have been developing continuously since the beginning of the 20th century. If the homeland of brass is undoubtedly Great Britain (everyone remembers the film “The Virtuosos”), these orchestras are more and more present in Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands, but also in Japan, Canada, United States -United States, Belgium, Australia and, increasingly, in France... Our Brass is made up of around forty 2nd and 3rd cycle students and former students and friends of the Conservatoire as well as teachers from the brass and percussion classes. Laurent Labaigt, Sylvain Delorme and Didier Bénard, professors at the Conservatoire, were in charge of its direction. Pierre Barusseau is currently in charge of the ensemble. The objective of Brass Landes is both to allow students and former students of the conservatory to express themselves in an original ensemble practice and to introduce the public of Landes, already a fan of brass, to a specific repertoire.
