Gascon Peasant Museum

Step back in time at the Gascon Peasant Museum! In the heart of Bas-Armagnac Gersois, the museum opens the doors to 19th-century Gascon life, a fascinating rural world rich in know-how and traditions. On an open-air site, fully covered and accessible to all, embark on an immersive stroll through agricultural and artisanal heritage. Blacksmith, cooper, clog maker, carpenter, weaver… the reconstructed workshops and their tools immerse you in the atmosphere of ancient know-how. From the modest dwelling of the brewer to the refined rooms of the bourgeois house of 1850, each place tells a story. In total, nearly 5,000 objects, agricultural machines, and tools bear witness to daily life in the Gascon countryside. Enough to arouse the curiosity of young and old alike! Beyond the exhibitions, the museum offers activities for children and adults throughout the season: participatory workshops and demonstrations with passionate artisans, storytelling evenings, Gascon balls, concerts in Occitan...
