    The European Heritage Days are fast approaching... For the occasion, the Musée du Paysan Gascon is organizing a special day around crafts and transhumance on Saturday, September 21. On Sunday 22, it's time for the grape harvest, the Museum's honey harvest, and cob construction. You will find the detailed program below. Saturday, September 21 - "Crafts & Transhumance" - All day long, meet all the Museum's craftsmen, and many others, during numerous workshops and demonstrations. Come and discover the trades of basket maker, blacksmith, grinder, spinner, knitter, lace maker, weaver, felt maker, broom maker, wood craftsman, and many others. Practice during small workshops such as writing with a quill, weaving, traditional dances or even building a cob wall. Discover our temporary exhibition on the history of agricultural machinery through 1/16 scale models, in the presence of the collector/model maker who will host it for the occasion. - From noon, the museum car park is transformed into a farmers' market, where you can buy quality local and artisanal products. You can also treat yourself to gourmet plates prepared by local producers. - During the afternoon, don't miss the arrival of the flock of sheep which stops at the museum before leaving for the village of Toujouse. - In the evening, a chicken in the pot meal is organized by the Culture and Heritage association of Toujouse, hosted by Jacky Dumartin. On the menu: consommé, stuffed chicken and vegetables, cheese salad, ice cream croustade. (wine and coffee included) Prices: adult €22 | child €13. Reservations required before 11/09. Sunday 22 September - "Harvests, honey & cob" - All day long, come and explore the rural heritage of yesteryear by visiting the museum. - From 2pm, experience the harvest, watch the grapes being pressed and taste the delicious juice. - Then, continue the adventure by watching the honey being extracted from the Museum's apiary. - Throughout the afternoon, the cob workshop (continuous) will allow you to discover this traditional construction technique used by our ancestors. All weekend long, traditional games, including Gascon skittles, will be available for young and old. Daily rate for this event: adult €3 | child (under 18) €1.
