Site of the Nine Fountains

Accessible site. The Neuf Fontaines site, redeveloped as part of the Marsan Urban Natural Park, allows us to discover a natural and architectural heritage typical of the Landes de Gascogne. The rehabilitation of an old airial and the construction of a goat farm allowed the installation of a goatherd who offers tasting and sale of his products on site. On the nature side, a mosaic of natural habitats has developed around the ponds which are now preserved. There are alternately aquatic grass beds, lawns, heaths and several types of woodland. This floral diversity encourages the observation of many unusual animals, including the emblematic European pond turtle, a protected freshwater turtle. To better welcome visitors, a walking tour, thematic panels as well as a car park and a picnic area have been set up.
