Aromas of the Past: The Journey of Armagnac. Domaine du Berdet, a family adventure spanning over 70 years… The farm began in the 1950s, a time when sharecropping was the norm. Even then, Domaine du Berdet specialized in cultivating vines and producing high-quality Armagnac. Thierry and Isabelle took over the family business, purchasing the estate in 1993. Initially, they began their winemaking activities with 10 hectares of vines. Passionate about their craft, they gradually expanded over the years by planting several more hectares. Today, Domaine du Berdet covers 50 hectares of vineyards, which they meticulously tend to ensure their vintage Armagnacs meet the expectations of all connoisseurs. Today, four grape varieties are used for Armagnac: Ugni Blanc, Baco, Colombard, and Folle Blanche. From vinification to distillation and aging, the entire production process is carried out on the estate, by hand, using traditional methods and a mobile distiller. Of course, the terroir, the year's climate, and the meticulous attention to every detail all contribute to the final quality of the Armagnac.
