Exposition : "Les Landes, le plus beau terrain de sport ! Histoires et partages"

At the heart of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region and nestled between land and ocean, the Landes department has always been a fertile ground for the development of games and then sports practices. Considered one of the most sporting departments in France, the Landes benefits from a rich and diverse sports fabric. This exhibition is organized around a fun scenography, according to a thematic route: Ancestral practices and new sports disciplines, Landes sports identity, historic clubs, major events, champion's list of achievements, sports economy and culture. Based on numerous archival documents and objects, some of which were identified as part of the participatory inventory of sports heritage, the purpose of this exhibition attempts to answer the following question: to what extent does the dynamics of Landes sport depend on territorial specificities and actors who, throughout its history, have marked its development? Also find in this exhibition a unique selection of videos and reports on Landes sport, its practices and its traditions from the National Audiovisual Institute (INA), Midi-Aquitaine delegation.
