As part of the European Night of Museums, the Despiau-Wlérick Museum will open its Gallery doors on Saturday, May 23, from 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The evening's program includes: - a visit to the temporary exhibition "Robert Wlérick: In Search of the Model," which closes on May 29; - the inauguration of the exhibition "The Class, the Artwork!"*, on display until May 29. Visitors will be able to discover the creations made by first-grade students from the École de l'Argenté in Mont-de-Marsan and first/second-grade students from the École de Bougue, who participated in this project throughout the school year. Through museum sessions and classroom activities, the budding artists worked with a selection of sculptures from the museum's collection. From the initial introductory session, through workshops to imagine, create, and reinterpret the works of Robert Wlérick and Christophe Charbonnel, the students explored the concepts of movement in sculpture and the model. The connection forged over the months between the classes and the museum enabled the creation of an exhibition conceived entirely by the students. *“The Class, the Artwork!” is an arts and cultural education program implemented by the Ministries of Culture and National Education.
